Garmin Nuvi 5000 Review
March 15, 2009 by admin

The Garmin Nuvi 5000 is a portable vehicle navigator with a big 5.2 inch display and comes with the portability and versatility of a compact device loaded with many great features in a sleek and slim, 'take with you everywhere' package. The Garmin Nuvi 5000 is a mere .8 inches thick. The nüvi 5000 is designed with RV and truck drivers in mind, whose far-reaching windshields can make a smaller screen hard to see and difficult to reach. The display is large and bright and can be seen easily from a distance as well in bright sunlight or in the dark.
The features of the Nuvi 5000 include preloaded maps for all of North America, a photo viewer and a MP3 player, as well as a FM transmitter that allows you to hear the turn by turn voice navigation prompts, MP3s, and audio books, right through your vehicle's stereo. The sound quality is outstanding.
The Nuvi 5000 is equipped with the Garmin anti-theft lock, so there's no need to worry should you have to leave it in your vehicle. Garmin's "Where Am I?" feature is a useful safety feature that comes on all Nuvis, but voice recognition makes it even better.
Like all Nuvis, you can just touch tap "Where Am I?" to find hospitals, police stations and gas stations near you and the nearest address and intersection. You can also check your exact longitute and latitude coordinates.
The Garmin Nuvi 500 will even remember where you parked your vehicle. It automatically marks your position when you take it from it's mount so you can navigate with Nuvi while you are walking and find where you parked your car. A perfect feature when you travel to locations and must park in very large parking lots.
Garmin is known for their amazing interface and the Nuvi 5000 won't disappoint, with it's simple controls and sub-screens that make travel planning a pleasure and a cinch.
