Magellan Triton 500
Designed for the rugged outdoorsman, the Magellan Triton 500 is loaded with features that assist you when you are out hunting, hiking, camping or just geocaching. The WAAS SiRF star III GPS receiver that this handheld navigator has on board, is designed to keep you on track, even if you are in heavy tree cover. The 3 axis electronic compass gives you accurate headings, even when you are resting. The embedded barometer assists you in tracking changes in weather and elevation. If you get caught in bad weather, the Triton 500 is fully waterproof to IPX-7 standards and sports a rugged outer casing that can handle the rough conditions.

The Magellan Triton 500 is compatible with National Geographic TOPO! maps. With the SD card storage slot, you can store a large area of these maps on an optional SD card, and once you plug the card into the unit, the details will be shown on the screen. This software allows you to see lat/lon or UTM grids, view trail profiles, parks, campsites and summits. You can customize the maps by adding your own photos and notes.

There is no worry about cutting your adventures short when you are out with the Magellan Triton 500. It gives you up to 10 hours of run time on two AA batteries. The pre-loaded map database gives you detail for North America and geographic boundaries worldwide. You are also given the ideal times for hunting and fishing, the phases of the sun and moon and vertical profiles.

Once you have taken the Magellan Triton 500 out on your adventure with you for the first time, you will fall in love with the features and all that this powerful, rugged little navigator has to offer. You won’t be caught without it again.
