Garmin GPSMAP 535s Review

The display has 640 x 480 pixels of resolution and over 800 nits of brightness and is powered by a high-speed processor, which gives this screen unmatched detail, quick redraw rates, and the most realistic photo-enhanced cartography in it's class. The display is easy to see, easy to read and can be learned quickly by even the beginner.

The Garmin GPSMAP 535s lets you see your position with extreme accuracy to within less than three meters via it's accurate, WAAS/EGNOS-enabled GPS antenna. It comes straight out of the box with a built-in, satellite-enhanced worldwide basemap, and detailed maps of inland lakes within the USA.

With an SD card slot which offers compatibility with the optional BlueChart g2 Vision card, the unit's mapping capabilities are enhanced with features. These include high-resolution aerial reference photos to assist with navigating tricky channels and inlets, or for finding spots like local marinas or other points of interest(POI).

The built-in sounder on the 535s can scan as deep as 900 feet to clearly paint depth contours, fish targets, structure, etc.

The vision card also allows the unit to give graphical depictions in a true 3D mariner's-eye view from topside, or from a fish-eye underwater perspective.
