The display's brightness level will automatically adjust to make it easy to read in changing light conditions. The Inland Lakes detail covers well over 5,000 inland lakes and displays the depth contours, boat ramps, hazards and marinas.

If you take your boat to coastal waters, the GPSMAP 535 is compatible with the optional Bluechart G2 Vision Cards. The G2 Vision cards will greatly enhance the coastal and offshore water details. The Garmin G2 information will include coastlines, shaded depth contours, navaids, port plans, wrecks, restricted areas and tides. You will be able to see â??real worldâ? photos of ports and harbors, marinas, navigational landmarks and other points of interest (POI). The G2 Vision card also allows you to see 3D perspectives above and below the waterline. Another new feature that the Garmin GPSMAP 535 has is called Auto Guidance technology. This feature helps you navigate with the best possible route.

The Garmin GPSMAP 535 comes with audible alarms for anchor drag, arrival to a destination, 10 proximity waypoints, off course, and clock as well as an alarm to alert you of low battery voltage.

The Garmin 535 has a lot of memory for waypoints and tracks and can store 3,000 waypoints with name and graphical symbols and 10,000 track log points with room to save 15 tracks with 750 points each. The 535 will store 50 of your routes and they are all reversible with up to 300 per route.

You have the option of buying separately the XM WX Satellite Weather which allows you to view weather data including storms, wind speeds, air and water temperature and you can get the latest weather forecasts with this option. The Garmin GPSMAP 535 is a tough unit with tough features.
